The Barn Journal
August 1996 December 2005
I was the webmaster for The Barn Journal, a Web site I helped initiate in the summer of 1996. The purpose of the site is to promote the preservation of rural architecture, particularly barns. Using content from the site's editor in Virginia, I updated and improved the site on a regular basis, using Macromedia Dreamweaver and Adobe Photoshop for most of the work.
The site includes over 30 stories with photographs, along with listings of links, publications, contractors, and events. The site also houses dozens of classified "Barn Ads" to aid in the removal and preservation of endangered structures. A sub-site called The Red Mill provides information on a recently restored grain elevator in Michigan, and features a separate format.
